If you joined us at our Open Evening on Monday 17th November, you’ll have seen first-hand what structured, site-ready apprenticeships look like — and why they matter. You’ll have met instructors, toured our facilities, and heard directly from current learners about their progress, their challenges, and their ambitions.
But if you need any more persuading, try this for size: the skills you build at TTE don’t just prepare you for work; they also prepare you to help shape the future of the place in which you live.
In 2025, TTE marks its 35th year. That’s three and a half decades of helping young people take their first steps into engineering, science, and process industries. Over that time, we’ve trained thousands of apprentices, not just for jobs, but for careers that make a difference. A difference to them, to the industries they serve, and to the communities they come from. That legacy is visible across the region, from the control rooms of major energy sites to the maintenance teams keeping civic infrastructure running.
That impact is more relevant than ever with Ellesmere Port undergoing a transformation. In January 2023, Cheshire West and Chester Council secured £13.3m in Levelling Up funding, unlocking a £14.8m regeneration programme with match funding and support from Active Travel England. That investment is now delivering improvements across the town centre, from the market hall and pedestrian routes to land unlocked for low-carbon housing.
The market hall is currently being upgraded with solar panels, insulation, and new spaces for business and community use. Safer walking and cycling routes are being designed to connect the train station to the town centre. Redundant buildings are being cleared to make way for homes that are energy-efficient, affordable, and built for the future.
These projects require skilled people – mechanical and electrical engineers and process technicians.
Site-ready talent who understand how to work safely, communicate clearly, and deliver to spec, and that’s exactly what TTE apprentices are trained to do.
The opportunity, of course, goes beyond civic infrastructure. Ellesmere Port sits at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious industrial clusters – ours is a region built on energy, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing. From the HyNet hydrogen and carbon capture programme to the Fulcrum BioEnergy plant at Stanlow, the area is leading the way in low-carbon innovation. Employers like Essar Energy Transition, Inovyn (part of INEOS), and Encirc are investing in the future – and they need people with the skills TTE delivers.
That’s why our programmes are designed with employers, delivered by experienced instructors, and embedded with behavioural development. Whether you’re starting with our Level 2 Study Programme or stepping into a Level 3 apprenticeship, you’ll be building the capabilities that matter for your career and for your community.
The more appealing a place is, the more attractive it becomes to live, work, and study. Regeneration isn’t only about buildings, it’s also about confidence, opportunity, and pride. When apprentices help deliver that, they’re building skills, and momentum.
For 35 years, TTE has helped young people build careers that matter and our focus will continue to stay sharp. If you want to earn, learn, and grow in a region that’s investing in its future – and in yours – then TTE is the right place to start.
